The Food Business Entrepreneurship Course is a program designed to equip aspiring food entrepreneurs with the necessary skills and knowledge to start and run their own food business successfully. The course is structured into four weeks of intensive training covering various aspects of the food industry. During the first week, students are introduced to the course and learn about the basics of food hygiene, how to start a food business, registering their business, market trends, funding, and various types of food businesses.
In the second week, students learn how to prepare various Nigerian dishes, such as Ogbono soup, Styda yam goulash, and Fresh fish Banga. The third week of the course is dedicated to learning how to prepare traditional palm oil Urhobo soup, Styda Multipurpose vegetable soup, Ofada Sauce, Banga rice -Warri Style, and Ofe onugbo. Finally, in the fourth week, students are taught how to prepare Spicy Goat head (isi ewu) or Ukwobi-cow foot, Goat meat Ukodo, and Moi moi in banana leaf.
Throughout the course, students are assessed and given exams to test their knowledge and skills. By the end of the program, students should be equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to start their own food business, such as understanding market trends, identifying funding sources, complying with statutory laws, and preparing various Nigerian dishes.
